This Sweet is mostly consumed during the Swosthani Bratha Month of Magh. It is generally used as a prasad and also used on Puja offerings during Swosthani along with Gul Mari. During the whole month starting of Swosthani Bratha Katha, which starts from the Nepali Lunar Calendra Poush Purnima and Ends in Magh Purnima the Hindu followers specially women keeps on a strict diet or as we call Bratha for the whole month.
Acheta Mari is shared among family or community as prasad after the Story is told during this whole month at evening times. The story is of Swasthani, Mahadev, Parvati and other God and Goddesses.
After the end of the month long bratha people offer 108 pieces of different products, and among them Acheta Mari is also offered. 100 pieces are offered at the temple and 8 pieces to husband.
